Wey Goodman, Clinical Lead for the Community Counselling Service

Project / Clinical Lead

Hi, my name is Wey Goodman and I’m the project / clinical lead for the Community Counselling Service.

My Role:

I have two key responsibilities:

Firstly, to engage with clients looking to access the service. As part of that process and in consultation with the client I will ensure the issues they wish to address are suitable for the therapists working within the service, where this is the case and again in consultation with the client, I will then match the client with their therapist. Should we determine that our service will not meet the clients therapeutic needs, I will signposted to another service who may be able to help.

Secondly, support the trainees. Here I work to recruit the very best, most suitable mature trainees for our service, offering support and assistance to help trainees in migrating from the classroom to working with clients. Part of this role is to provide on going line management to support the trainees with their professional development throughout their time with us.
